Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides an easy and straightforward cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top restaurants in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy as well as competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell was born in New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. Following her graduation with an English and Communication diploma from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the restaurant business by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable opportunity for me. I was unable to learn enough, didn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy, she developed a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian food and culture. It will have a significant impact on the way she approaches her cuisine. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children living with obstacles and is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she promotes children with diabetes and awareness. As a speaker, Burrell makes trips across the country to share her passion for food and her culinary career. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career that she feels so fortunate to be able communicate with people what is truly important for her.
