As a young girl her illness began to take hold. It took her six months to be being hospitalized. The illness was later confirmed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. His skating experience along with Denis Samokhin was what made him famous. Together, they participated in 2 Junior World Championships and placed 7th both in 1993 and 1994. In the short time they worked together, Maxim Kachanov, they placed fifth at the Goodwill Games of 1994. Then in 1995 she teamed up again along with Vladimir Fedorov. Both were successful as a team, winning the Finlandia Trophy two times and competing at the Grand Prix of Figure Skating. They achieved incredible results however it was their 15th position finish at the World Championships in 1998 that represented the peak of the relationship.
